Industry-strength Living

The higher the demands of life, the greater the need is for balance.
In essence, the more work, the more play.

Maybe this 'play' looks like travelling, even out of state, on my days off. Maybe this 'play' looks like reading a book in a coffee shop for hours. And maybe, just maybe, this 'play' looks like dressing up in an inflatable dinosaur costume and ice skating.

A few MLive staff were at the ice rink that afternoon, and following my derpy dino escapades, they asked me a few questions to accompany the photo. Overall, the general question was... ...Why?  To start the new year off with something unique? Yes.
Wanted to get my moneys worth out of this costume purchase? Sure.

But honestly, taking time to give others (and myself) some laughter is very important to me. Even as a crisis counselor, finding appropriate opportunities to make the person on the other side of the line laugh has an irreplaceable value. It takes a lot to look death in the face, and then imagine him wearing a Snuggie.

So, for working in my industry, I wanted to share what it looks like for me to accomplish my industry-strength living.
